Ghost System


During play testing people have been having trouble deciding what to do, to try to get the player more information I added a Ghost System. When you hover over a tile with an action, a ghost version of the game pieces will play out what will happen.

Tile Highlights

Once I had the ghost system in, another problem became apparent. The tile highlights didn’t show you how the enemy. I refactored the highlight to show both what you will do and what your opponent will do.

Remove Reactions

Now that the ghost and highlights were set up for the Action phase, it was time to implement then for the reactions phase. But it was going to be hard so I didn’t want to. I thought about it, and I thought do I really need the reaction phase? The action phase was already pretty fun. I decided to try removing the reaction phase and just have both the player and the opponent move at the same time. No turns, no action points.

It works pretty well. It makes the game faster and simpler. Range attacks need some more work but overall this seem like a win.
