Tileset
To get an idea of what the game should look like, I went and found some reference are online. I took that and used it to rework an existing asset pack and ended up with the following. and ended up with the following.

I implemented signs as a separate entity

Now that the tile set is dark instead of white, the tile highlight looks odd. So, I’ll invert the color.

Mech Art
The previous Mecha art was, at best, so, so. To try an make a decent Mech I tried a new art process. I downloaded a Gundam 3D model, posed it, then drew over it in Aseprite to match the art style.

The result isn’t amazing but it is great progress

Mech Animations
While I was working on the Mech I decided to add some missing animations.
I added a block animation

I added an anticipation frame to the Melee animation

I added a smoke animation

Finally I added a death animation

Lighting
To complete the cyber punk look I added a lighting system called [Penumbra](https://github.com/discosultan/penumbra)

Titles
I originally created the titles as black text, now that the tile set is dark they aren’t visible. I reworked the titles to be in the same style as the logo. I also change the opening title from “Search and Destroy” to “Ready Go” to be more like G Gundam
